A couple of months ago, Usha Kumari reached out to me, wanting to host a podcast about my startup journey. The title is clickbait and makes it sound like I might have made billions with Opfin’s acquisition, but alas that ain’t true.
I’m usually not very keen on participating in videos like this one, but I couldn’t say no to Usha. Her company was one of the first customer of Opfin while she worked at Zolt Energy (circa 2017), and a lot of her feedback shaped the product. Interestingly, Zolt Energy also installed one of the first ever grid-connected solar energy setups in my neighbourhood, at my house in Gurgaon. We went through a lot of pain together - basically being beta testers for a manufacturer’s brand new solar inverters, and then struggling to make the discom understand how net metering is supposed to work!
